Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about QRWing

General

Is QRWing really free?

Yes, completely. Every feature — all QR code types, design customization, logo embedding, and downloads — is free with no hidden costs, watermarks, or premium tiers.

Do I need to create an account?

No. You can start generating QR codes immediately without signing up, providing an email, or entering a credit card.

How many QR codes can I generate?

Unlimited. There are no caps on how many QR codes you can create or download.

Do QRWing QR codes expire?

Static QR codes (like URL, text, WiFi, vCard) encode the information directly and never expire — they work as long as the destination is valid. QRWing does not use dynamic redirect links, so your QR codes are permanent.

Privacy & Data

Is my data private?

Yes. All QR code generation happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your content — URLs, contact details, WiFi passwords, or any other data — is never sent to or stored on our servers.

Does QRWing track what I encode?

No. Since processing is done client-side, we have no visibility into what you encode in your QR codes.

What data do you collect?

We collect standard anonymized analytics (page views, browser type) to understand how the site is used. We do not collect the content of your QR codes. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Creating QR Codes

What QR code types does QRWing support?

QRWing supports 20+ types: URL, Text, Email, Phone, SMS, WiFi, vCard, Location, WhatsApp, Telegram, Calendar, YouTube, Twitter/X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Bitcoin, Zoom, App Store, and PayPal.

Can I add my logo to a QR code?

Yes. Upload an image from your device or paste an image URL. You can adjust the logo size and margin. We recommend using H (high) error correction when embedding a logo to ensure scannability.

Can I change QR code colors?

Yes. You can set custom foreground and background colors, apply linear or radial gradients, and even use a transparent background.

What's the best error correction level?

For QR codes without a logo, M (medium) is a good balance of size and reliability. If you're adding a logo, use H (high) so the QR code can still be read even with part of it covered.

How large should I make the QR code for printing?

For print, use SVG format (infinitely scalable) or PNG at 1000px or larger. The minimum recommended print size is 2×2 cm for reliable scanning.

Downloading & Sharing

What formats can I download?

PNG, SVG, and WebP. SVG is best for print as it's infinitely scalable. PNG and WebP are ideal for digital use.

What is the shareable link feature?

The 'Share' button generates a URL that encodes your entire QR code configuration. Anyone with that link can open QRWing and see an exact replica of your QR code.

Can I use QRWing QR codes commercially?

Yes. QR codes generated with QRWing are yours to use however you like — personal or commercial — with no restrictions or attribution required.

Technical

Does QRWing work offline?

Once the page is loaded, QR code generation works entirely in the browser without an internet connection. You need a connection for the initial page load.

Which browsers are supported?

QRWing works in all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend keeping your browser up to date for the best experience.

Is QRWing mobile-friendly?

Yes. QRWing is fully responsive and works on smartphones and tablets as well as desktops.
